Build it, step by step
Build it, step by step.
01
Install visitor tracking snippet
Drop the tracking pixel into your site's head tag so visits start streaming into your enrichment stack. This is the data source for everything downstream.
- Copy the tracking snippet from your de-anonymization tool
- Paste it into the <head> section of your website
- Publish and confirm the script is firing on page load
02
Spin up the Clay table
Clone the pre-built table that wires together webhooks, enrichment providers, scoring logic, and routing. No need to build from scratch.
- Open the Clay template link
- Click 'Create table using template' in the top right
- Select the workspace where the table will live
- The table includes all enrichment, scoring, and routing steps pre-configured
03
Connect the visitor tool to Clay
Point your de-anonymization platform at Clay's webhook so every visitor event flows into the table as a new row.
- Copy the webhook URL from the Clay table
- Open the integration settings in your visitor tool
- Paste the webhook URL and map the required fields
- Save and activate the integration
- Test by visiting your site and confirming a new row appears in Clay
04
Confirm visitor data is flowing
Check that each visit creates a row with domain, email, pages viewed, and timestamp. This confirms the pipe is working before enrichment starts.
- Open the Clay table and watch for new rows
- Verify each row includes company domain, contact email, pages visited, and timestamp
- Confirm repeat visits either append or update existing records as configured
05
Enrich contact attributes
Clay automatically appends LinkedIn profile, role, seniority, follower count, and geography to each visitor. This powers personalization and scoring.
- The table runs contact enrichment providers in sequence
- Each row is enriched with LinkedIn URL, role, seniority, follower count, and location
- Enrichment runs automatically as new rows arrive
06
Enrich company attributes
Add firmographics like industry, size, geography, business model, and funding so you can score accounts against ICP fit.
- The table enriches company records with industry, size, location, business model, and funding stage
- These fields feed the scoring logic in the next step
- Enrichment completes within seconds of the visitor event
07
Score and tier accounts
Use formulas to assign Tier 1, 2, or 3 based on ICP fit, market segment, deal size potential, and sales motion. Scoring updates automatically as enrichment completes.
- The table applies a scoring formula to each enriched record
- Tier 1 is strong fit, Tier 2 is good fit, Tier 3 is low fit
- Adjust the formula columns to match your ICP, market, deal size, and sales motion criteria
- Scoring recalculates automatically when enrichment data changes
08
Fire Slack alerts for Tier 1
Send real-time notifications to your sales channel when a high-fit account visits. Include name, role, LinkedIn, company details, and funding so reps can act immediately.
- Connect your Slack workspace to Clay
- Select the channel where alerts should land
- The table automatically sends a message for every Tier 1 visitor
- Each alert includes company name, tier, contact name and role, LinkedIn and company URLs, and funding info
09
Route into outbound sequences
Push Tier 1 and 2 visitors into LinkedIn or email sequences based on scoring. Tier 3 stays dormant. This closes the loop from visit to outbound activation.
- Tier 1 visitors are routed to HeyReach for LinkedIn outreach
- Tier 2 visitors are routed to Instantly for email sequences
- Tier 3 visitors are excluded from outbound but remain in the table
- Sequences are triggered automatically based on the assigned tier
