    1. 01

      Listen for replies on both channels

      n8n monitors reply events from Instantly (email) and HeyReach (LinkedIn). When a lead responds, the workflow captures the identifier and the channel.

      • Instantly webhook fires on email reply
      • HeyReach webhook fires on LinkedIn reply
      • Extract lead email or LinkedIn URL from payload

    2. 02

      Check for identifier on opposite channel

      The workflow looks for the counterpart identifier. If the email came in, it checks for a LinkedIn URL. If LinkedIn replied, it checks for an email address.

      • Query internal CRM or data table for the missing field
      • If found, route to blocklist update
      • If missing, route to enrichment step

      Route based on data completeness

      Leads with both identifiers skip enrichment and go straight to blocklist writes. Incomplete records go to Clay for enrichment.

      • Complete record: proceed to blocklist write
      • Missing LinkedIn URL: send email to Clay
      • Missing email: send LinkedIn URL to Clay

      Enrich missing identifier in Clay

      Clay waterfall runs email to LinkedIn or LinkedIn to email enrichment. Only successful enrichments continue.

      • Email to LinkedIn: use Clay's LinkedIn person lookup
      • LinkedIn to email: use Clay's email discovery waterfall
      • If enrichment fails, halt and log the record

    5. 05

      Write to blocklists

      n8n writes the enriched or existing identifier to the opposite platform's blocklist. This prevents future campaign enrollment.

      • Email reply: add LinkedIn URL to HeyReach blocklist
      • LinkedIn reply: add email to Instantly blocklist
      • Blocklist updates are immediate and apply to all active campaigns

    6. 06

      Prevent future enrollment

      Both platforms check their blocklists before enrolling new leads. Once written, the lead will not receive outreach on that channel again.

      • Instantly skips blocklisted emails in new sequences
      • HeyReach skips blocklisted LinkedIn URLs in new campaigns
      • No manual intervention required
