Build it, step by step
Build it, step by step.
01
Schedule the daily fetch
Configure a recurring Claude task to search the web once per day for stories in your chosen domain.
- Create a new scheduled task in Claude.
- Set frequency to daily.
- Specify your domain (fintech, climate, developer tools, etc.).
- Define story types to prioritize (product launches, funding rounds, regulatory changes).
- Instruct Claude to return the top 10 stories.
02
Build the Notion database
Set up a database with the columns Claude will populate and the status fields your team will use to approve or reject.
- Create a new Notion database.
- Add text properties: Headline, Summary, Source Link.
- Add a select property for Category with tags that match your editorial buckets.
- Add a date property: Fetched On.
- Add a select property: Status with options In Review, Approved, Rejected.
- Set the default Status to In Review.
- Add a checkbox property: Published.
03
Write stories into Notion
Connect the Claude task to Notion and instruct it to create one row per story with all required fields populated.
- Enable the Notion MCP connector in the Claude task.
- Point it to your new database.
- Map each story to a new row: Headline to title, Summary to a one or two sentence synopsis, Category to the best-fit tag, Source Link to the original URL, Fetched On to today's date.
- Run the task once to verify 10 rows appear.
04
Review and approve manually
Open the database each morning and flip Status to Approved for any story you want published.
- Open the database view filtered to Status = In Review.
- Scan each row for relevance, source quality, and originality.
- Change Status to Approved for stories worth publishing.
- Change Status to Rejected for stories to skip.
- Leave In Review if you need more time.
05
Fire the publish webhook
Set up a Notion automation that sends the approved row payload to a webhook endpoint when Status becomes Approved.
- Create a Notion automation on the database.
- Trigger: When Status changes to Approved.
- Action: Send a webhook with Headline, Summary, Category, Source Link in the body.
- Copy the webhook URL for the next step.
06
Publish to Webflow CMS
Route the webhook to Claude with Notion and Webflow connectors enabled so it reads the row and creates a live CMS entry.
- Point the webhook URL to a Claude endpoint with Notion MCP and Webflow MCP connected.
- Instruct Claude to read the approved Notion row.
- Map fields to your Webflow CMS collection: Title to Headline, Body to Summary, Category tag to Category, External link to Source Link.
- Set the CMS item to published status.
- Update the Notion row Published checkbox to true.
