Overview: What is Tolstoy?

It has a free plan, and paid Shopify App Store plans start at $12 a month on Starter (checked October 2026).

Tolstoy started as an interactive video tool and now sells three products, alone or bundled as AI Commerce. AI Player publishes shoppable videos. AI Studio generates on-brand product images and videos from your catalog. AI Shopper answers shopper questions and recommends products. On the Shopify App Store it's rated 4.7 from 277 reviews (October 2026).

Fit: Ideal customer profile.

Direct-to-consumer brands on Shopify, and the agencies that run their stores, that already have social video and UGC and want it on product pages where shoppers can buy. It's built for consumer ecommerce, not for B2B sales teams sending prospecting videos, who'd be better served by a sales video tool.

Questions

Frequently asked.

How much does Tolstoy cost?

On the Shopify App Store, Starter is $12, Plus $44 and Pro $195 a month, with yearly plans about a third cheaper. There's also a free plan (checked October 2026).

Is Tolstoy free?

Yes. The free plan lets you build your first shoppable widget and publish videos to the Shop app without a card. Publishing shoppable video across your store needs a paid plan.

Does Tolstoy work with Shopify?

Yes. It installs as a Shopify app and pulls in your catalog so you can tag products in videos. It also works with Wix and has widgets for Tapcart mobile apps.

What happens if I go over my Tolstoy viewer limit?

Videos keep playing and you're billed for extra viewers, $10 per 1,000 on Starter and Plus and $7 on Pro.

What are Tolstoy's limits?

Pricing is usage-based, so a traffic spike raises the bill. Prices on the Shopify listing and Tolstoy's own pricing page use different plan names, so confirm which plan you're buying. It's made for consumer stores, not B2B sales.

What are the alternatives to Tolstoy?

Sharelo is interactive video for sales and marketing teams. MakeUGC and Vidme generate AI UGC-style videos, and ConvertFlow builds personalized ecommerce funnels without code.
