It's free with your own API key, and hosted plans start at $12 a month (checked October 2026).

You write a prompt in a formula such as =SHEETAI or =SHEETAI_EXTRACT and drag it down, and every row gets its own answer. There are 14 functions for jobs like classifying, tagging, translating, summarizing and filling a range from examples. SheetAI also generates images, video and music through Replicate. The add-on is published by IndianAppGuy Tech Pvt Ltd on the Google Workspace Marketplace.

Usage

How to use SheetAI.

Install SheetAI from the Google Workspace Marketplace and open it from Extensions in any sheet. Paste an OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Grok or Replicate key, or pick a hosted plan and skip the key. Then write a formula that points at a cell, for example to pull company names out of notes or tag replies by intent, and fill it down the column.

Do I need an OpenAI API key to use SheetAI?

Only on the free plan, where you can use OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Grok or Replicate keys. Starter and Pro run on SheetAI's hosted AI, so no key is needed.

Which AI models does SheetAI support?

Its function reference lists OpenAI models including GPT-4o, Anthropic's Claude 3 models, Gemini 2.0 Flash, Grok and DeepSeek. The default model in formulas is gpt-3.5-turbo unless you set another.

Can SheetAI clean or extract data from a list?

Yes. SHEETAI_EXTRACT pulls items such as emails or company names out of text, and SHEETAI_FILL learns from a few finished rows to fill or tidy the rest.

What are SheetAI's limits?

It only works in Google Sheets and has no CRM integration. SheetAI's docs warn that responses over 500 tokens in a cell formula may time out, so long text belongs in the sidebar. Some Marketplace reviews from 2024 and 2025 report paid upgrades that didn't activate and slow support.

What are the alternatives to SheetAI?

SheetGPT also adds OpenAI functions to Google Sheets, and Formula Bot analyzes spreadsheet data from plain-language questions. Clay and Derrick add prospect enrichment to a table, and Rows is a spreadsheet app built for team workflows and reporting.
